Hello, friends in this post I am going to share knowledge about how to start bodybuilding for beginners. My passion is doing bodybuilding and follows all the bodybuilding stories. This post is especially dedicated to beginners so that they can get an idea about how they should start doing bodybuilding.
Bodybuilding is a great sport and I really love it and I am doing bodybuilding for the last 10 years. So, I have good knowledge about it and I thought why not to share these tips with our readers and this is the reason why I am writing this post.
Many people think that doing bodybuilding is very difficult and complicated but this is not true. If you have proper knowledge then you can do bodybuilding without any problem.
So friends without wasting any time let’s start this post.
How To Start Bodybuilding For Beginners
1. What is your Goal
The first thing you want to ask yourself is what is your goal. Do you want to become a professional bodybuilder or just keep your body fit or bodybuilding is your passion or hobby.
You have to make this clear before proceeding further. The Workout routine of a professional bodybuilder will be different from a person who is just doing workouts to keep his body fit.
So make sure you have clear ideas of what you want to accomplish by doing the workouts.
2. Find Good Gym
Another most important thing is to find a good gym in your area because it is really important and you cannot ignore this.
You must join the gym whose environment is peaceful and not overcrowded so that you can do your workout properly and focus on your workouts.
You cannot predict which gym is good or bad by just searching for it on Google. You will have to physically visit the gym and do 1-day training to get an idea about the gym members and the gym environment.
You can pick 2 to 3 gyms and do 1-day training. Some gym owners will allow you to do 1-day training for free while others will charge some money.
After that, you can narrow down the gym you want to join.
3. Practice Right Exercise Form
I have seen many beginners do their exercises in the incorrect form. Well doing like this they don’t gain muscle at the first point and second, they are simply wasting their time.
No matter which exercises you are doing always do it with correct form as this will help you to pack on more muscles and avoid any injury.
If you don’t know the correct form of any exercise then please ask your gym trainer then he or she will guide you.
4. Start Slow
I completely understand how eager you are to hit the gym and lift heavy weights but this is not good especially for beginners.
One must start doing workouts slowly and then after you have some experience you can increase your weight training intensity.
5. Avoid Ego Lifting
This is a huge problem in many youngsters who just cannot control their ego and start doing sets with such a heavyweight that they can’t even complete 1 rep without taking the support.
This not good and you must avoid doing ego lifting as this will never help you to achieve your bodybuilding goals. Always do the workout with the amount of weight you are comfortable with as this will surely help you to build more muscles.
6. Do Compound Movements
Now a days we see many people who simply do their workouts on modern machines. Doing this is not a problem unless you are doing compound movements as well.
Many people simply ignore compound movements and this is not good. You must always include barbell bench press, barbell shoulder press, deadlift, and squats in your workout routine.
Compound movements help to increase your body muscle mass as well as increase your overall body strength.
7. Follow your Workout Routine
For beginners, it is really very important that you follow your workout routine regularly. If you don’t have a workout routine then you can ask your gym trainer about it and he will design and suggest you good workout routine which you can follow.
Your gym trainer has lots of experience so they are the right person to give you advice about which workout routine you must follow so that you can see good results.
8. Ideal Reps Range
In order to build muscles, you must set your reps range between 8 to 10 reps and on the other hand, if you are training for muscle definition then the rep range could be between 10 to 15 reps.
So select the reps range according to your need and your goal.
9. Don’t train Every day
Many beginners have the misconception in their mind is that if they train their muscles everyday then they will gain more muscles. Well, this is not true, and you must avoid doing workouts 7 days a week.
For beginners, you must train for 5 or maximum of 6 days and give your body the rest. More training does not lead to more muscles. Giving proper rest to your muscles is also very important.
10. Don’t Overtrain
In any scenario, you must not do over-training as this will not give any benefits instead it might lead to injuries. You must avoid overtraining.
Many people think that the more sets and reps they will do will help them to gain more muscle mass but this is not the case. Overtraining does not help you in any way so please avoid it and keep your sets range of 3 and reps count between 8 to 10.
11. Increase Weights Slowly
This is the most important point you must take care of. I have seen many beginner lifters start to lift very heavyweights in the gym. Well, lifting heavy weights is not at all bad but If you don’t do your reps with proper form then this is not a good strategy.
See that you are doing bodybuilding or you want a fit body then this makes no sense that how much weight you can lift in the gym. What matters the most is the form of exercise.
